I am so grateful Chloe found MEEKA early on in her wedding planning. Chloe reached out to me describing the aesthetic she wanted for her special day  - we both knew the Camillo bubble wrap robes for her & her bridesmaids would be the most incredible fit for her take on a classic, bohemian styled Ibizan wedding. After seeing all the gorgeous wedding pictures we had to get all the juicy details of the day:

Tell us a little bit about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship?

We both met in Ibiza 2016 as I was working on the island for my third and final season as a VIP hostess at O Beach. We instantly clicked and were inseparable for the next couple of days until Liam flew back to London. Luckily, I was planning on moving to London on my return, so we were able to pick up from where we left off. Since then, we have travelled, attended a lot of festivals/music events, and purchased our first house together where we live with our puppy french bulldog, Bear. We are generally quite busy people as we both work within construction and Liam owns his own business and plays semi-pro football. When we are not working, we are socialising and having endless fun with our close family and friends. Our relationship feels very easy as we want to experience the same things in life, and we share the same morals and values, so for me, when we met it just felt so familiar and right.

Care to tell us a little bit about your proposal?

We travelled to Bali on Boxing Day 2019 and spent 2 weeks exploring the island. The proposal happened barefoot in the sand in Gili T during sunset, it was a complete surprise and beyond perfect.

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details.

We always knew we wanted to get married in Ibiza as that’s where we met. We viewed around 8 venues in summer 2020 and when we saw Pure House, we both looked at each other as we knew it was the one. The hotel is cocooned by a jungle in the hills of the island which gave us pure Bali vibes, but in our favourite place, Ibiza. The pool area, villa and décor has neutral and earthy tones with a minimal style which is a constant source of inspiration for the two of us, so we chose an aesthetic that celebrated the villa’s beautiful tropical garden setting, with a coastal feel. We didn’t really want to add anything that would diminish from the beauty of the hotel and landscape. But we used a mix of white and nude fresh and dried florals and perspex chairs for the ceremony. This theme followed through to the reception dinner where each table setting had a beautiful hand made place card made from shell that was also used as wedding keep sakes. We also created a ‘nudes & neutrals’ dress code for guests to keep in with the styling theme.

How did you spend the morning of your wedding? How did you deal with your nerves leading up to the wedding?

So, it wasn’t the calm and relaxed morning I originally had planned, mainly because of the bad news the day before the wedding. When we arrived to check in at the wedding venue, my wedding planner warned us about the weather on our wedding day – the day forecasted heavy rain and storms. As you can imagine it was upsetting to hear this ,as when planning a wedding in Spain you'd expect the weather to be nice. We had to produce a contingency plan and rearrange the day as the venue is mainly outdoors, so it became stressful knowing our vision was about to be tarnished. Ultimately, we had to make the best out of the situation, but I went to sleep feeling quite low. My mum stayed with me the night before in the bridal suite. I woke up early the next morning, to the sound of the storm and heavy rain which made me cry, but I was so grateful to be surrounded by a supportive mum and bridesmaids who made me feel so much better. Fortunately, a couple hours later, the blue skies and sun started to make an appearance just as we were getting ready, and I felt like all my nerves had washed away (literally).

Tell us about your main outfits of the wedding day

I wore a custom-made embellished gown from Ava Mia Couture, I always knew I wanted to wear something sleek and backless. I also wore white heeled sandals from Bottega Veneta, as I wanted something that I could wear again. The Grooms suits were from Moss Bros, and the bridesmaid dresses were from Asos.

Any funny moments or major bloopers on the day?

There were so many funny moments throughout the day/evening as our guest fully let loose as soon as the ceremony ended, and the singer/sax started to play. The energy on the day was just incredible. One funny moment was when Liam was handed over the microphone to do his speech, and it came as a surprise to everyone when he started by doing a little freestyle MC which apparently helped to ease his nerves!
