The greatest part of Meeka is being able to be a part of so many love stories... & here's another one.
We are so honoured that Christy chose to get ready in our beautiful Diana Bridal set and her girls all wore the Kara Kimono robe

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling, and some of your favourite details.

Bertrand and I got married in Ibiza. Our rehearsal dinner was at a little chiringuito by the beach called Ses Boques. It's probably my favourite place on the island. Nothing fancy, super rustic, has great staff, and the best seafood on the island. The views driving down to Ses Boques are just stunning!

The day of our wedding started in Sant Rafael with a church ceremony, followed by dinner and dance at our dream location. We found this amazing venue through our wedding planner Gabriela. It was an old whitewashed villa on top of a hill with a big garden full of palm trees, perfect for a dinner under the stars. It didn't need much to make this place look incredible, so we kept the set-up minimal. Fairy lights, neutral tones, no big flower arrangements, just some greenery, and gyp. We designed our stationery and worked with Naz Lierden on the illustrations for the invitations - she is the best. I loved our table plan, we used empty wine bottles and named every table after locations that had a special place in our hearts.

The owners of the villa happen to be fantastic chefs. Salvatore, Annamaria, and their team did an incredible job - I'm still dreaming about the food!

How did you spend the morning of your wedding? How did you deal with the nerves leading up to the wedding?

The morning of my wedding started really relaxing by the pool in the sun with a coffee. My mother, mother/sister-in-law, and my bridesmaids came to the villa I stayed at and got their hair and make-up done. My amazing photographer Sabrina joined and took some really cool pictures, she just made us all feel so comfortable.
I practiced my speech with Kieran, one of my bridesmaids' husband, who helped me to refine the last bits. That's when all the emotions hit - I did shed some tears. Besides that, I was really relaxed, to be honest. Might have been the rose or the aromatherapy balm I used on my wrists.

Tell us about your main outfits of the wedding day

I wore the most beautiful Diana Dobby bridal set from Meeka, my bridesmaids wore matching white linen kimonos. My wedding dress was the 'De La Reine' dress from J. Andreatta. I found the dress and my veil at the Wedding Club in South Kensington. Shoes were quite a tough one, so I went for heels that I could still wear after the wedding and chose Jimmy Choo Diosa Mules in off-white. I couldn't decide on jewellery for ages. In the end, I wore mini hoops that I bought at a cute market in Ibiza.

After the first dance, I changed into my party dress which I got custom-made in my hometown Berlin by the lovely Franziska Burgert. We designed a short neck holder dress with an open back and lots of sparkles. I knew I was gonna dance all night, so I changed into comfortable platform sandals.

What was your first dance song?

Dancing in the moonlight by Toploader... An acoustic version that changed into the original version to get everyone on the dancefloor.

Is there anything you wish you had or hadn’t spent money on? and any advice for future brides?

One piece of advice, enjoy every second of it, and don't let anything or anyone stress you out. This is your day and everyone came to celebrate you!
Other than that: add buffer time to your planning and ask one of your bridesmaids to keep track and make sure you eat!
